Friends of Citizens Advice South Lakeland launch, Ulverston Coronation Hall January 2007.

Last year we helped over 2,500 local people with advice and assistance, often at times of crisis, and frequently when they had nowhere else to turn. In addition a recent survey has shown that the bureau is having to turn away another 1,000 people per year who it simply does not have the resources to deal with.

The emphasis of the launch was to highlight this unmet need, with the hope of attracting businesses and individuals who would like to contribute to this vital service. The principle aim of the Friends group is to raise money so the bureau can open its doors for more hours each week and so help more people from the local community.
