Important notes for CASL Housing Solicitor clients
This is a Legal Aid service funded by the LSC (Legal Services Commission) for those on benefits or a low income. You must bring all documents, including proof of income to the first appointment.
Do not miss your appointment. Due to the demand for urgent advice, if you miss it or rearrange it is unlikely that you will be seen again in time to help.
Colin does not advise landlords so that as many tenants as possible can be helped.
He covers the whole SLDC area and the Borough of Barrow, but not west of Millom, the Penrith/Eden area or Lancashire.
He provides duty representation at Barrow and Kendal County Courts for possession hearings. Please arrive well before your hearing time to access this service.
He can apply for a full Legal Aid certificate and then act for clients in all courts.
He does not advise on neighbour disputes, building disputes, buying/selling property or business tenancies (unless the premises are also residential eg. farms or B&Bs)
